Did you know that Pharaoh's Daughter is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit?
Did you know that all of us that work here are volunteering our time and no one gets paid!
Did you know that our financial responsibilities come through our own pockets, and pockets of people like you who are led to give to help get these families out of the cycle of crime and into leading God-honoring lives?
Pharaoh's Daughter is currently going through some big transitions. Not only are we leading and guiding a momma and her baby as mom explores life outside of prison and being a first-time mom, but we are now renting a larger home and taking on more than we did before! This will expand our reach to more mothers and more babies, it's an awesome undertaking!
Right now, most of our needs fall under financial. With this new house, and all the time it takes making real change happen through talking with political heads in our county, writing to senators, and reworking our bylaws etc...it's hard to keep up! Susan still works for the majority of her time, and still has to find time for everything Pharaoh's Daughter needs.
Being generous isn't determined by the amount you give, but your heart. Jesus speaks on giving in 2 Corinthians 9.
"The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
Whether you're a Member, Advocate, or Champion, it's about your heart, your intentions, your motivation behind the giving.
God gave to us and continues to give abundantly. Because of His generosity, we are then called to be generous...with all joy.
Before you begin to give, ask yourself these questions:
1. Is God the Lord of your life, including your finances? - Does he take preeminence in your spending decisions? Do you come to Him when you're trying to make financially responsible decisions?
2. Are you tithing to your local church? - The Bible is clear on supporting His kingdom work through your local church, giving so that as a whole you can minister to the people in your circle.
3. Are you giving anywhere else? - Giving to your church is the standard, the baseline! Jesus calls us to give abundantly as He has given His life abundantly! Whether it's time or money. Do you give to any missionaries? Local outreaches? (Like us!)
4. Are you giving with a cheerful heart? - If you are giving grudgingly, then please don't give at all! God doesn't need your money. We know He will provide for us, He owns cattle on a thousand hills! He is gracious and we know He will push and pull on the hearts of His people to provide for His kingdom work.
