PBO First Sunday: December & The Week of Giving
We made it! The last month of the year and it's teeming with excitement, shopping, last minute donations, fundraising, and lots of dirty diapers. Well actually, a bit less since Beckah being home means Jaiden spends his days being changed by his own momma (hallelujah for that!).
However, in this season we also feel massive loads of stress building up on all of our shoulders with presents to buy, babies to rock, red tape to be cut etc...Saturday we had our board meeting where the word "flustered" got passed around by a few of us. One of our advisory board members spoke up with wise words. "Being flustered is not of God." How pertinent. Our God is a God of order, righteousness, peace, love, justice and mercy. No worry, no anxiety, and no being flustered.
"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"
Matthew 6:26 reminds us of the way God cares for us. In detail, in minuscule and gigantic ways. We are leaning on this verse in this season and we encourage you to pick up you own Bible this week and get to know The Savior.
PBO 1st Sunday was a great day. We raised $158 in cash right there raffling off one of Chris Criner's beautiful creations over at Spalted Craftsman Turned Wood and at the end of our Week of Giving we had a whopping $5,403! Keeping in mind that God gives us exactly what we need when we need it, we are thankful and blessed to receive that amount. How good is He.
